STUDIES

  • 1999: Doctor of Paris I - Panthéon-Sorbonne University with mention “Highly honorable with praise” ("Très Honorable avec Félicitations" à l'unanimité). Subject of Thesis: Le vieux catholicon du monastère Saint-Etienne aux Météores, la première phase des peintures murales (published by: Presses Universitaires du Septentrion, Villeneuve d’Ascq, 2001).
  • 1991-1992: Post-graduate studies in the Institute of Art History and Archaeology of Paris I - Panthéon-Sorbonne University. Title of dissertation for Master Degree (D.E.A.): Les représentations des hérétiques dans l'art byzantin (1992).
  • 1990: Graduation of the Faculty of Archaeology and Art History of Athens National University.

 

SCIENTIFIC - PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • 2015-today (2017): Associate Researcher, Research Centre for Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Art (KEVMT) of the Academy of Athens.
  • 2007: Assistant Researcher, Research Centre for Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Art (KEVMT) of the Academy of Athens.

  • 2001- 2011: Cooperation with the Archaeological Institute of Tirana, Albania, in the Program of the KEVMT «Monuments of Christian Cult in Albania».
  • 2001: Researcher, Research Centre for Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Art (KEVMT) of the Academy of Athens.
  • 1996-2001: Curator in the Department of Museums of the Direction of Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Monuments of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture.
  • Participation with communications in Congresses, among them in the 20th (Paris, 2001), the 21th (London, 2006), the 22th (Sofia, 2011) and the 23th (Belgrade 2016) International Congress of Byzantine Studies, as well as in the annual Congress of the Christian Archaeological Society (Athens, 1997, 2002, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2013).
  • Invited participant to International Congresses (Paris 2015, Athens 2015, Tirana 2015, Athens 2016)
  • Lectures on Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Art at the Theological Academy of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania (November 2008), at the University of Mykolaev, Ukraine (April 2010) and in the École Pratique des Hautes Études, in Paris (April 2011).
  • Referee for an article to be published in the Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies (July 2016).
  • Participation in the three member Thesis committee (comité de thèse) for  Rémi Terryn, Ph.D. candidate in the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes, Paris. Dissertation title: Recherches sur l’« École » de peinture de Kastoria à la fin du XVe et au début du XVIe siècle : les églises Saint-Nicolas-de-la nonne-Eupraxia (1485) et Saint-Nicolas Magaliou (1505) (President of the committee - directeur de thèse: C. Jolivet-Lévy) (report of the three member committee: 10/9/15).
  • Participation in archaeological excavations (Kos island; Boeotia; Church of Pantanassa – Philippias, Epirus; Byzantine Basilica, Nivica, Albania; Early Christian Basilica of 40 Martyrs, Saranda, Albania).
